What is the Ashesi D:Lab Hackathon Series?

The Ashesi D:Lab Hackathon series are events where students, entrepreneurs, developers and technology enthusiasts, converge to develop creative solutions to important problems in society. Impact is a key metric in the development of solutions hence problems tackled at our hackathons are wicked tough but exciting!

Why this hackathon?

UNICEF GenU (Generation Unlimited) is a UNICEF young people’s movement that is hosting an African Youth SDG summit on November 7th to 9th around perspectives of tech in tackling the problems related to some of the SDGs. In preparation for this, they are hosting a hackathon in Accra (D:Lab), Tamale (HopIN), and Kumasi (Kumasi Hive). Winners from these three cities will work on their prototypes during the summit and pitch the idea during then.
